Copenhagen University has welcomed government proposals to merge it with the Danish University of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University. The move is part of a bid to create large, more competitive institutions and could create one of Scandinavia's largest universities, with 9,300 staff and 37,200 students.
