Conference on monitoring agriculture with remote sensing

November 5, 2004

Brussels, 04 Nov 2004

The tenth conference on 'Control with remote sensing of area-based subsidies' will take place in Budapest, Hungary, from 24 to November.

The conference will bring together representatives from government, and industry working within information technology (IT), imaging instrumentation and support of farmers in all EU Member States and candidate countries.

The backdrop to this conference is the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) reform, adopted in September 2003. This implies important changes and adaptation in the management and control systems of the Member States, for which the development and use of remote sensing, geomatics, information and communication technologies (ICT) is essential.
