Climate could suffer in volcanic winter

* Supervolcanoes pose a natural threat to climate, dwarfing that of man-made effects, MPs were warned this week. A "volcanic winter" caused by a major eruption could upset the climate for years, members of the Geological Society told the House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee.
