China-Europe networking symposium on research networks

Brussels, 21 Oct 2004

A Chinese-European networking symposium on research networks and broadband solutions will take place in Shanghai, China, on 9 and 10 December.

The event is supported by the European Commission and the Chinese government and is designed to address European and Chinese visions of future e-infrastructures, research networks and advanced applications.

The following themes will be addressed at the symposium:
- network infrastructures;
- IPv6;
- broadband and wireless access;
- joint collaborations;
- middleware;
- network security;
- grids and shared resources;
- participation in EC programmes.
