Today and tomorrow you can help the finances of one of Britain's less prosperous universities while adding to your cultural life. The London College of Music and Media in west London is selling a clutch of Steinway and other big-name pianos at what it advertises as "extraordinarily low" prices. Perhaps this piece of initiative by the music school of Thames Valley University will be imitated by other departments. Just as well it has not got a medical or veterinary school.
