Charity survey batters mean Dutch stereotypes

The Dutch are noted for being good traders who are tight with their money. A study by Amsterdam's Free University illustrates another side to their nature. Out of a population of 16 million, more than three-and-a-half million people of 18 years and over give free time every week to help voluntary causes, and 72 per cent of the nation gives support in time and money.
