Cash controversy

Students have condemned Cambridge University's decision to accept a Pounds 1.5 million donation from tobacco company BAT Industries. In a ballot of 1,711 academics, 1,128 voted in favour of accepting the money. Gordon McVie, director-general of the Cancer Research campaign, said: "We will be reviewing our relationship with the university in the light of this decision."
