Four music students are set to benefit from the continuation of a scholarship scheme started by the former drummer of punk rock group The Clash. A total of £4,000 will be awarded to drummers studying at Canterbury Christ Church University's Broadstairs campus after Nicky "Topper" Headon pledged to continue funding for a second year. Mr Headon said he aimed to stay in close contact with the students after seeing the difference the award had made to their predecessors' drumming. "It's a Clash thing to do. The Clash were about changing things, contributing and making a difference," he said.
