Campaign to recruit more social workers

* The government has launched the second phase of its campaign to increase the number of applicants for social work training by 5,000 in three years.

The first phase, launched in October 2001, led to 14,000 people calling for information, exceeding targets by 60 per cent, and a 20 per cent increase in requests for application forms for courses.
