Calls for the abolition of the Further Education Funding Council

* The Further Education Development Agency has called for the abolition of the Further Education Funding Council and its replacement with a national funding body for all post-16 education and training, except higher education. It has recommended a national funding tariff and called for an independent inspection and audit body reporting to the secretary of state.
