Call for tenders to analyse assistive technology industry

The European Commission's Directorate General for Information Society and the Media has published a call for tenders to analyse and federate the assistive technology information and communication technologies (ICT) industry. The study is expected to build on previous European studies in the field. It will carry out an in-depth analysis of the currently extremely fragmented European assistive technology industry - related to ICT products and services and accessibility.

The study aims to identify adequate models for liaising between assistive technology industry and relevant mainstream industries in related topics such as: interoperability and compatibility of solutions; to perform an in-depth analysis of the assistive technology sector (related to ICT products and services and their accessibility) including overview of the field/sector; identification of actors; identification common needs of the industry and obstacles leading to its fragmentation; analysis of the situation of the assistive technology ICT industry on relevant international markets.
