Call for tenders for the assessment of Senior Watch 2006

The European Commission's Information Society and Media DG has published a call for tenders for the assessment of the senior market for information and communication technologies (ICT) - Senior Watch 2006 - progress and developments. The study is aimed at analysing the evolution of the market for assistive technologies since 2002; identifying key dynamics and evolutions intervened of the 'senior market' for ICT for the all EU25 area; and measuring user perceptions of suitability for old age of ICT products.

The study will perform a new set of measurements on these key evolutions during 2006/2007 and compare results with previous assessments. It will use existing indicators and update information on user needs and market potential for IST assistive technologies. It will also assess comparable evolutions among the EU25 Member States, and key competing markets/industries in the USA and Japan and identify best practices in the field.
