Business vision

April 28, 2000

Eight leading professional bodies from around the world have created a task force to consider the creation of an international business qualification to enable professionals from a wide range of disciplines to build on traditional skills and expertise.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales is a member of the task force. The qualification would complement existing professional qualifications and would need to be formally approved by their governing bodies.

The project will complement the work of the International Federation of Accountants and the International Accounting Standards Committee in their efforts to promote traditional accounting and auditing skills.

Robin Hamilton Harding, former chief financial officer of Bell Canada, has been appointed to lead the task force, which will seek the views of professions including accountancy, law, finance, management consulting and IT.
