More partnerships are needed between universities and business if productivity goals for the UK's economy are to be met, Richard Lambert, director general of the Confederation of British Industry, told a CBI skills summit in London this week. Some "fantastic" collaborative work by new universities such as Hertfordshire and Liverpool John Moores universities should be emulated, he said.
