British Library's public catalogue is free online

June 28, 2002

The British Library's public catalogue is available online free of charge for the first time.

Users will be able to browse the British Library through Copac, which gives access to library catalogues of 22 large universities in the UK and Ireland.

The deal comes after the British Library became a member of the Consortium of University Research Libraries.
