British Library staff are staging a second strike this week, with 100 staff taking action at the Boston Spa Document Supply Centre.
The 48-hour walkout by Public and Commercial Services Union staff is over pay. The union says the salary increases on offer are not enough to address the problems of low pay - some staff are paid as little as £10,300 despite the centre handling 4 million document requests annually. But the BL said it did not expect any serious impact on services as the majority of staff would not be striking.
