Sideswipes is long overdue an attack of James Joyce, and Ulysses (1922) furnishes no 91, in the shape of a chair even more bizarre than some of those funded in institutions over the last few years: "Greater love than this, he said, no man hath that a man lay down his wife for a friend. Go thou and do likewise. Thus, or words to that effect, saith Zarathusa, sometime Regius Professor of French letters to the University of Oxtail."
