Boathouse fire hits Oxford rowers hard

Oxford University rowing is severely affected by the fire which destroyed University College boathouse earlier this week. The blaze destroyed the listed boathouse on the Thames and 40 boats belonging to six colleges. Costs estimated at Pounds 1 million are expected to be met by the university and insurance. The police have not ruled out arson.
