Be sure of no Shell link

I was intrigued to see that my short article on the Brent Spar affair (THES, May 31) appeared opposite a full-page advert for Shell's Internet Brent Spar website. Since my article carried the agreed headline that I thought "Shell was right but for the wrong reasons", uninformed readers might conclude that the two pages were in some way related.

Lest there be any doubt, I would like to assure your readers that I have never had any connection with Shell, am in no way supported by the company, and do not represent their views or policies.
