A former nightclub has been taken over by a university, which plans to transform it into a city centre base for music and the performing arts. The site is to be used by Bath Spa University for a new rehearsal and performance centre, said vice-chancellor Frank Morgan. "We hope that it will become a fantastic place for teaching and developing young performers, right in the heart of Bath," he said. "It's a wonderful building, with centuries of Bath history behind it, and will be a great resource to enable music and performing-arts students to contribute further to the vibrant cultural life of the city."
