Bankers hear about power of green pound

Natural Environmental Research Council scientists spelled out the certainties, and the uncertainties, of climate change, to an audience of bankers this week. Richard Cooper, chairman of the environmental issues advisory panel of the British Bankers Association, said: "Climate change is a very real issue about which banks need more information. It has the capacity to affect the finances of all businesses." The group is now to hold a workshop for its member banks so that up-to-the minute scientific information can be spread.
