The Association of Teachers and Lecturers is likely to follow lecturers' union Natfhe with a strike over pay in further education colleges.
The ATL, which has members in 15 colleges, will ballot for industrial action in October to seek to improve a 2.3 per cent pay offer. The Association of Colleges said the offer was all that colleges could afford.
