Greece has its first female secretary of state for education after the conservative New Democracy Party's victory in last month's general elections. Marietta Giannakou, 53, a psychiatrist, will be aided by two undersecretaries of state, George Kalos, the party'seducation spokesperson, and Spyros Taliadouros.
