The Arts Institute at Bournemouth has changed its name after it was awarded university college status and degree-awarding powers last year. It has adopted the title of The Arts University College at Bournemouth. Principal Stuart Bartholomew said the new name was strategically significant. "In an ever more competitive global market, it is crucial that we build upon the recognition and reputation of our offering, and the designation of 'university college' offers a significant contribution to this," he said.
