Employers who need shift workers are being paired with student jobseekers through a new "slivers of time" initiative at Anglia Ruskin University. The university's employment bureau says it is responding to the need for flexible working by offering jobs on a shift-by-shift basis. It is calling on employers who, for example, may need quick cover for an absent member of staff, someone to work on a leafleting campaign or to work a few hours a week bookkeeping, to come forward and register for the scheme.
