Agenda of the 26/27 May Agriculture and Fisheries Council

The 2511th session of the Council of the European Union (AGRICULTURE AND FISHERIES) will take place on Monday 26 May (11h00) and Tuesday May 2003 1, in the Justus Lipsius Building, Brussels, under the Presidency of Mr Georgios DRYS, Minister for Agriculture of Greece.

The following points will be discussed at this session:

AGRICULTURE

- Co-existence of genetically modified, conventional and organic crops
= Information by the Commission / Exchange of views

- CAP reform: A long-term policy perspective for sustainable agriculture
= Preparation for the bilaterals

FISHERIES

- Management of the fishing effort relating to certain Community fishing areas and resources and modifying Regulation (EEC) 2847/93 ("Western Waters") - proposal for a regulation

= General approach

A press conference will be held by the President of the Council on Monday, 26 May (around 14h00) and at the end of the session.
