English delegates were impressed by the Glasgow Caledonian students who were found around the campus during the conference, claiming that they appeared particularly mature and studious. More cynical locals speculated that they were wannabe actors hired specially for the occasion from the neighbouring Royal Scottish Academy for Music and Drama.
