The "lie detector of the future" is being exhibited by researchers from Aberystwyth University and designers from the Royal College of Art. The institutions worked together to develop "passive-profiling" technology, which aims to read people's feelings and emotions from their facial expressions. Reyer Zwiggelaar, professor of computer science at Aberystwyth, said the technology was based on the modelling of expressions, eye movement and pupil changes linked to emotions and physiological processes such as blood flow. He said it had the potential to establish whether people were telling the truth.
