Rhodri Morgan, First Minister for Wales, has praised the "stellar performance" of Aberystwyth University in increasing its undergraduate intake by an estimated 18 per cent from last year. The university has seen a growth of more than 20 per cent in undergraduate enrolments in science and Mr Morgan said the university's new science facilities had also boosted research, showing the vital role that science could play in the future sustainability and economy of the principality.
