When is a lemon not a lemon? Readers of The THES (Sepember 1) might well have pondered this question when a picture of Leicester University's 16-acre Harold Martin Botanic Garden showed senior botanic gardener Graham Benskin admiring the giant lemons in the university's hothouses. For the caption accompanying the photograph described the lemons as pawpaws! Considering the heatwave has produced lemons twice their normal size, staff at The THES could be forgiven for their faux pas. This clarification should ensure there are no bitter feelings!
