A serious honour

After her ordeal at the hands of an alleged stalker last week, Germaine Greer will perhaps find comfort in the fact that she is the only academic to appear in a list of "women we admire most" published by the new women's magazine Aura - or perhaps not.

Subjects of admiration above her 29th place on the list include: Princess Anne, Esther Rantzen and comedians Jo Brand, Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.
