A league of their own

August 3, 2007

Work placements are the latest aspect of university life to gain their own league table, thanks to four recent Loughborough University graduates. Alastair Lindsay, Ben Smith, Oliver Sidwell and Chris Wickson, who graduated from Loughborough last month, have created RateMyPlacement.co.uk, which enables students to review their placement experiences.

The site rates each job on factors such as responsibility given, workload, managerial support and transferable skills gained, as well as chances of employment at the company after graduation. DHL Express in the East Midlands is currently top of the league. "We had a mixed bag of experiences. Those of us who had a better year felt that it was more a result of luck than judgment," Mr Lindsay said.
