Global Sustainable Development Congress

Convening the global sustainability community

The Global Sustainable Development Congress is an annual event which promotes cross-sector collaboration between higher education, government, the business sector and civil society, to improve health and education, eradicate poverty, reduce inequality, tackle climate change and stimulate economic growth.

Agenda

The main agenda features six core tracks, each dedicated to addressing the transformations critical to achieving the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

  • Digital revolution for sustainable development
  • Education, gender and inequality
  • Energy decarbonisation and sustainable industry
  • Health, well-being and demography
  • Sustainable cities and communities
  • Sustainable food, land, water and oceans

Across each track we explore key topics – from reviewing current action, examination of the driving forces impacting change and addressing questions on how we can deliver impactful solutions effectively, quickly and globally.

The congress also features an exclusive live preview of the THE Impact Rankings, the only global performance table that assesses universities against the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Taking place in Istanbul, Turkey in 2025, the fourth instalment of the congress promises to drive new alliances and create positive action for a better tomorrow. Learn more
