Qualifications and Curriculum Authority
The Qualifications and Curriculum Authority came into being in October 1997 and brought together the work of the National Council for Vocational Qualifications and the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority.

It provides a wide range of qualifications including GCSEs, GCE AS and A levels; GNVQs, Btec First, National, and Higher National Certificates and Diplomas; NVQs; Key Skills and Entry Qualifications and specific programmes for employers that can be taken in schools, colleges, universities or in the workplace.
