UMIST. Roland Smith, former professor of marketing and chairman of Manchester United plc was installed as chancellor on May 1 and awarded the following honorary degrees: DSC: Richard Greenbury, chairman of Marks and Spencer; Gary Weston, chairman of Associated British Foods.
