Fellowships

UNIVERSITY OF BRISTOL

R. G. Chambers has been awarded an honorary fellowship of the university, acknowledging his long service and ingenious practical experiments proving important theories in the physics department.

ST PETER'S COLLEGE, OXFORD

Official fellowship: Gordon Leslie Clark, Halford-Mackiner professor of geography.

Senior research fellowship: Mensun Bound, Triton fellowship in maritime archaeology.

Four fellowships of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Dance have been conferred on the following: William Fraser, principal and vice chancellor of the University of Glasgow; Maurice Temple, head of brass at the academy; Kenneth Newis, former chairman of Edinvar Housing Association, chairman of the Queen's Hall Edinburgh, now a trustee with the academy; William Millar, former editor of the Journal of the Law Society of Scotland.
