UNIVERSITY OF LEEDS Paul Mitchell, formerly at the University of Manchester business school, has been appointed to a chair in the business school.

Goldsmiths College University of London The following have been appointed to visiting professorships at the college: Daphne Statham, director of the National Institute for Social Work, and Gerry Smale, director of the development unit of the National Institute for Social Work.

Leeds Metropolitan University John Spender, Australian ambassador to France and a lawyer, has been appointed visiting professor in the school of law.
