EUROPEAN INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCED STUDY IN MANAGEMENT

Anthony Hopwood, professor in the school of management studies at the University of Oxford, has been appointed president of the Board of the European Iinstitute for Advanced Study in Management.

Barry Dobson, director of studies for engineering, science and technology and director of marketing at North Hertfordshire College, Stevenage, has been elected council chairman.

ASSOCIATION OF COMMONWEALTH UNIVERSITIES

Michael Gibbons, dean of the graduate school and director of the science policy research unit at the University of Sussex, has been elected secretary general.

UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL LANCASHIRE

Francis Kennedy, special adviser to the chairman and board of British Airways, was installed as the first chancellor of the university in October, 1995.
