Joyce Butcher, director of acquisitions processing and cataloguing since 1989, has been appointed head of the chief executive's office.


John Kirk, management consultant, has been appointed international development manager; Edward Oyston, formerly at the department of leisure and community services Birmingham City Council, head of technical services and development within the department of library and learning resources; Eddie Reynolds, general manager of computing and telecommunications at ICI plc, director of corporate information systems.
