UNIVERSITY OF SALFORD. Gillian Lynne, choreographer and former soloist with the Royal Ballet, has been appointed professional patron at the Centre for Media, Performance and Communications.


Joyce Butcher, director of acquisitions processing and cataloguing since 1989, has been appointed head of the chief executive's office.


John Kirk, management consultant, has been appointed international development manager; Edward Oyston, formerly at the department of leisure and community services Birmingham City Council, head of technical services and development within the department of library and learning resources; Eddie Reynolds, general manager of computing and telecommunications at ICI plc, director of corporate information systems.
