It is disturbing that your ­editorial and news story on green universities (“Leeds Met tops first UK green rankings”, June 8) are couched in terms of profit, competition and growth when issues of global heating seem likely to come down to the sustainability of current concepts of growth and development.
Something more than the moral high ground of scoring well in the People & Planet Green League might eventually be required, and uni­ver­sities should be central to achieving that.
