Slavery studies

The claim that there are no academic studies on modern slavery because few academics are conducting such research is wrong ("Slave trade sees no let-up 200 years on", March 23).

There has been extensive academic debate about the incidence and causes of modern unfree labour - much of it in the journal I edit.
