No secrets at Bristol 1

February 11, 2005

So Bristol's "admission secrets" have been "revealed" in documents "released" under the Freedom of Information Act (News, February 4).

Strange, given that one could paper a football pitch with old stories on this, that none of the information in the article was confidential and that Bristol has been openly taking educational context into account for at least 14 years. Our admissions policy has been refined over time. If The Times Higher had "revealed" during conversations with Bristol that it was reviewing an old version, we might have been able to shed more light on the past and brought the story up to date.
