And I think it is about time for the silent majority to speak up: those of us who, when inundated with work, have still made time to read Laurie Taylor's column. How often we have smiled in quiet satisfaction that someone has said it all for us ... "with native humour temp'ring virtuous rage, formed to delight at once and lash the age" (thanks to Pope for that).
