Counting the quality 2

October 3, 2003

"Quality chiefs" have not said that "inadequate English-language support at Middlesex was damaging overseas students' ability to understand in class" ("Language blow for Middlesex", THES , September 26).

The Quality Assurance Agency report makes only an "advisable" (not "essential") recommendation that the university review its English-language support. In fact, the audit report commends the university for "meeting its student-centred mission".
