Bearding the Lion

Whether or not Laurie Taylor is, as Andrew Fisher suggested (Letters, 16 April), writing most of Times Higher Education's opinion pieces, it looks as though he may be choosing the illustrations.

Stephen Halliday's proposition that "abuse of officials is rare in rugby" ("Fair game?", 23 April) is correct, but the player most prominent in the picture chosen to illustrate the point was Neil Back, now coach of Leeds Carnegie, who was once suspended for six months for manhandling the referee at the end of a cup final.
