The Maynooth University Student Helpdesk is part of the university’s commitment to provision of services to students. The Student Helpdesk is intended to be a central contact point for student queries, with the aim that the helpdesk will respond to routine queries and refer non-routine queries to the appropriate unit within the university. The Helpdesk team works with other units in the University to expand the range of queries that can be managed directly and on an end-to-end basis. The Helpdesk operates using digital channels alongside multiple on-campus helpdesks. In addition to the student-facing service, the Helpdesk is also responsible for and involved with many student focused initiatives We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Senior Executive Assistant (SEA) to join the Student Helpdesk operation. Reporting to the Team Leader, the SEA will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day workflow of the Student Helpdesk Team, while working alongside the team to respond to student queries across all channels. The successful candidate will also contribute to the planning and delivery of initiatives and projects as they arise. Candidates should demonstrate experience in; prioritising, assigning, and directing workflows, designing and implementing new processes, planning and organising, meeting and exceeding objectives, co-ordinating the collection and preparation of large volumes of data, while developing team cohesion with a view to delivering a high-quality student focused service. As the Student Helpdesk Team operates within Student Services, candidates should understand and have empathy with the mission, ethos, and overall approach of Student Services. Salary: Senior Executive Assistant (2025): €46,703– €56,828 p.a. (7 points) Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions. An exciting opportunity is available for a talented researcher to join a successful team in Primary Care Research Centre/Clinical Experimental Sciences to develop an e-learning tool for clinicians supporting families with sleep problems and ADHD. This will be in collaboration with teams at the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University. The post is available under the supervision of Professor Cathy Hill and Dr Mary Steele in close collaboration with the wider DISCA team (www.discasleep.org.uk). The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for supporting the development of an e-learning tool based on analysis of qualitative research on user needs, user feedback and a review of existing educational material and approaches that have been successful in similar contexts. The role will also include planning for the dissemination and implementation of the tool. There will be opportunities to contribute to other elements of the research programme subject to capacity and competencies. Applicants will have experience of conducting qualitative research and developing and delivering education for healthcare professionals. You will also have experience of working collaboratively with external teams. Successful applicants will have demonstrated their ability to work independently and efficiently in a research context and will have excellent written English skills with meticulous attention to detail.
