Your personal sphere of influence: As a university assistant prae doc you will be part of the team of Univ.-Prof. Dr. Harald Eberhard and take on tasks such as active participation in teaching as well as in research and publication projects. Our focus is on Austrian and European public law. The employment duration is 4 years. Initially limited to 1.5 years, the employment relationship is automatically extended to 4 years if the employer does not terminate it within the first 12 months by submitting a non-extension declaration. Your future tasks: Dissertation writing: you conduct research on your topic, spend one third of your working time on your dissertation or other independent research activities with the aim of deepening your own professional and scientific knowledge. You collaborate in research, teaching and administrative tasks at the Institute. You participate in audits and evaluation activities. You are involved in student support. You are entrusted with the independent execution of courses and holding of examinations. This is part of your personality: Degree: you have completed your diploma/master's degree in law, which entitles you to study for a doctorate, or an equivalent qualification with a focus on Austrian and European public law. Knowledge and areas of interest: You have demonstrable knowledge and focus of interest in Austrian or European public law, ideally through experience in institute operations and teaching experience. In addition, you already have experience or at least willingness in using multimedia teaching and learning formats. You bring specific interests in the research areas focused on in the department (state organization law, administrative procedure and legal protection, rule of law, general administrative law, international and comparative constitutional law, interaction of Union law and national law).  A proven publication record would be desirable. You have knowledge of foreign languages. Corresponding experience abroad would be desirable. You have qualified computer skills in connection with the preparation of legal texts and ready-to-publish manuscripts. You work independently and are both a good communicator and team player. Description The Center for Smart Engineering Materials (CSEM), New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a post-doctoral associate to work on the development of high-sensitivity integrated photonics sensors in the Silicon Photonics (SiPh) platform. The successful applicant will drive an exciting project on the development of smart optical sensors for environmental monitoring in the oil & gas industry. Our photonics research lab has set modern tools for the design, testing, and optimization of photonic circuits. It is open for collaboration with researchers with a background in basic research to investigate new optical circuits and materials with specific optical, electrical, and mechanical properties. The specialty of this research project is advanced optoelectronics materials for sensing applications. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students, and undergraduate students. Description The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering (Civil & Urban Engineering) seeks to recruit a Post-doctoral Associate to work on a broader field of geotechnical engineering.  Required Qualifications: A successful applicant must have a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on one or more of the following: Centrifuge experimental testing (design, execution, and data interpretation) Numerical modeling and simulation to complement physical experiments Preferred) Proficiency in CAD and modeling tools such as SolidWorks for experimental design and apparatus development Additional background in areas such as artificial intelligence applications in geotechnics, geoenvironmental engineering, geohazards risk assessment, or energy geotechnics will be considered an asset.  Research Project: The successful candidate will lead a research project focused on advancing the design, testing, and analysis of resilient and sustainable geotechnical systems using centrifuge modeling. The work will bridge advanced experimental testing with complementary numerical simulation to generate insights for infrastructure and energy applications. The Post-doctoral Associate will be expected to: Design, implement, and analyze centrifuge experiments. Integrate findings with numerical models for validation and deeper interpretation. Develop innovative experimental apparatus (SolidWorks proficiency is a plus). Disseminate results through high-quality publications in reputable journals.
