The University of Mannheim Business School (UMBS) is one of the oldest and most prestigious of the university’s five schools. Located in Mannheim, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, the business school, established in 1963 originated in the Handelsschule and covers the fields of business administration, finance, marketing, accounting, operations research, strategic management and corporate law.

Between 1955 and 1973, Mannheim Palace became the centre of the University of Mannheim’s campus, but now it is home to the business school, as well as the Law School, parts of the School of Humanities and the University Library.

The undergraduate business degree offers the most developed international exchange programme in Germany, with a compulsory exchange term during the third year. It has links with 400 highly respected partner schools, including McGill University, HEC Paris, ESSEC, National University of Singapore and Carnegie Mellon University.

At graduate level, the Mannheim Master of Management (MMM) is an entirely open course curriculum, allowing students to choose from courses as they wish. It can then be converted to a Master of Finance, Master of Accounting, Master of Marketing etc.

The Business School of the University of Mannheim has been awarded the Triple Crown accreditation, meaning it has been accredited by AACSB International, the Association of MBA (AMBA) and EFM (EQUIS). With 37 professors and 4,000 students, it is one of the largest business schools in Europe.

It has also forms part of an alliance of leading business schools called the Council on Business and Society, which also includes the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Keio University Business School in Tokyo, the School of Management of Fudan University in Shanghai, the Fundação Getúlio Vargas in Brazil and ESSEC Business School in France and Singapore.
