关于 Pennsylvania State University-Penn State Abington

Penn State Abington is a commonwealth campus of the Pennsylvania State University, and it is located approximately 15 miles from the centre of Philadelphia.

The rural campus is based on some 45 acres of wooded land where a variety of species inhabit.

There are a variety of options available to students at Penn State Abington with regards to studying. Students are able to complete the first two years of any of 160 Penn State bachelor programmes on offer at the Abington campus, to then change to the University Park campus of Penn State to complete their degree. The University Park campus is the largest and main campus of Pennsylvania State University.

On campus, Penn State Abington has a large library, modern laboratories, and plenty of computer facilities. Recreational facilities also include tennis courts, basketball courts, and baseball and soccer fields.

Unusually, however, there are no residence halls on campus. In 2017, the university will open its first residential building nearby to the campus, which will house roughly 800 students and make the campus residential instead of commuter. Alongside the housing development, a new student union and academic building will be built by 2020.

There are plenty of clubs and organisations for students to get involved with on campus, which include: Badminton Club, Chess Club, Latino Student Organisation, Pre-med Club, and SHE.

Athletic teams at Penn State Abington, are known as the Nittany Lions, and compete as members of the NCAA Division III while also participating in the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) and the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). There are 13 different intercollegiate sports on offer, which include: baseball, basketball, cross country, soccer, golf, lacrosse, softball, tennis and volleyball.
