Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts is a reputable public institution in the small city of North Adams.

Established in 1894 as the Normal School in North Adams, offering two-year courses for teachers, it has also operated as the State Teachers College of North Adams and North Adams State College. MCLA has administered four-year courses since 1932 and run a range of professional programmes since 1960, including master’s degrees in education and business administration.

The most popular degree combinations include English, management, marketing, psychology, and visual and liberal arts. Philosophy, modern languages, arts management, education, chemistry and computer science are among the other subjects taught at MCLA.

Located in the North West of the state, near its borders with Vermont and New York, MCLA is 50 miles east of New York’s capital, Albany, and 125 miles from Boston. Around three-quarters of MCLA students are from Massachusetts, and more than two-thirds live on campus. Its varsity teams compete in 13 different sports.

Opened in 2013, the college’s 65,000-square foot Feigenbaum Centre for Science and Innovation, which witnesses a significant amount of research, includes teaching space for courses like biology, physics, chemistry and environmental science.

MCLA alumni include Anton Strout, an urban fantasy author best-known for the Simon Canderous series, and Ken Hill, a Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Cleveland Indians in the 1995 World Series.

Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements SNB-valid Full Practicing Certificate (Registered Nurse). A degree in Nursing from a recognised University. Possessing a Master’s degree, PhD degree and relevant certifications will be an added advantage. Have at least 10 years of clinical nursing experience in healthcare settings. Extensive experience and knowledge of nursing skills and industry practices to bring industry perspectives to SIT. Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Experience in research projects and publications will be an added advantage. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Experience in simulation education will be an added advantage. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possessing industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage (e.g., simulation training) Possession of a good network of relationships with industry partners in hospitals, community, and ILTC sectors will be an added advantage.

Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position Description - Associate Professor View Position Description - Professor About the Role/s Associate Professor (Teaching and Research) The Associate Professor will provide sustained academic leadership in teaching programs, with a primary focus on Occupational Therapy. The role will deliver inspiring, innovative, and student-centred teaching, using contemporary approaches that enhance engagement and learning outcomes. The incumbent will make a significant personal contribution to research and community service through original and impactful scholarship. The role will be expected to secure competitive external research funding and maintain a strong track record of high-quality publications. As a senior academic, The Associate Professor will play a key leadership role within the College and contribute to the broader University, while also demonstrating influence at national and/or international levels within the Occupational Therapy discipline. The incumbent will lead and support ethical, high-quality research initiatives, including mentoring early career researchers, supervising Honours and Higher Degree Research students, and guiding complex Work Integrated Learning (WIL) experiences. The Professor (Teaching and Research) The Professor will deliver outstanding teaching in Occupational Therapy, using contemporary pedagogy and a diverse range of innovative delivery methods to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment. The role will contribute to curriculum development and continuously enhance the student experience through evidence-based teaching practices. A strong focus on research is central to this position. The Professor will produce high-quality publications in Occupational Therapy and related fields, with work recognised at national and international levels and actively pursue and secure external competitive research funding, contributing to the growth of the University’s research profile and income. The role includes supervising Higher Degree by Research students, including doctoral candidates, through to successful completion, while supporting the expansion of the PhD cohort in Occupational Therapy. The Faculty of Medicine wishes to appoint an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer, hosted by one of the following clinical specialties: Ophthalmology, Respiratory or Paediatrics. The post is intended for an applicant within any of these three specialities, with the speciality of the final (single) post dependent on the successful applicant.  The post-holder will be pursuing their development of research and teaching within the Faculty of Medicine, University of Southampton.  In this post-doctoral role, the successful candidate will be in specialist clinical training at ST3 level or above and have substantial experience of the relevant research areas, a proven track record of high-quality original research publications, the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary, multi-professional team and hold a corresponding NTN.  You will join the NIHR Clinical Integrated Academic Training Programme at the University of Southampton, as an NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer. As a University of Applied Learning, the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) works closely with industry in its research pursuits. This position is situated within the Centre for Immersification, dedicated to applied research in immersive technologies and bridging the gap between academia and industry. Research staff at the Centre have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets relevant to industry demands while working on innovative projects within the university. The research team is seeking a Research Fellow or Research Engineer with strong expertise in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and social science methodologies to lead the user research and policy development, as part of an interdisciplinary team investigating harmful user-generated content in virtual worlds as part of a national research initiative on Online Trust and Safety. The primary responsibility of this role is to investigate users’ experiences with harmful content in these virtual environments, review existing reporting guidelines on these platforms, and evaluate users’ responses to alternative mechanisms. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of faculty members, engineers, and industry partners, including labs at the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) at NTU. Technical skills, natural curiosity, versatility, and enthusiasm are highly desired traits that will enable success in this fast-paced environment.
